Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Unflinchingly Endorses QB Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott struggled mightily against the 49ers on Sunday night, throwing three interceptions with just one touchdown in a blowout loss. While Dallas is still 3–2 on the season, that performance reignited the conversation of whether Prescott is the right franchise quarterback for the Cowboys.

On Tuesday, however, Dallas owner Jerry Jones stood by Prescott amid the criticism.

“I completely believe we have the quarterback that can take us where we want to go,” via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “Dak Prescott is a quarterback that can get us to the Super Bowl. And that’s the way that’s going to be.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones defended quarterback Dak Prescott following a disappointing game.

Since he entered the league in 2016, Prescott has a 64–38 record and has led the Cowboys to the playoffs in four different seasons. However, he has won just two playoff games in six tries and has yet to play in a conference championship game.

Therefore, people will judge Prescott by his performances vs. the elite-level teams, which is why the game against the undefeated 49ers was so scrutinized. In his last three games against San Francisco, which includes two playoff games, Prescott is 0–3 with three passing touchdowns and six interceptions.

In order for Dallas to break through this year, they will have to go through the Eagles and 49ers, the only two remaining undefeated teams in the league. Prescott has only played the Eagles three times since 2021, but the quarterback has beaten Philadelphia each time.
