Ex-NFL Player Rashad Jennings Had Such a Laughably Bad Fail on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Rashad Jennings apparently isn’t much of a movie buff, and it became clear during a recent game show appearance.

The former Giants running back’s unfamiliarity with famed director Quentin Tarantino resulted in possibly the worst guess ever on Wheel of Fortune. Jennings participated in the celebrity edition of the show, with winnings benefiting his youth charity, The Rashad Jennings Foundation.

Unfortunately, his prize wasn’t as big as it could’ve been on Wednesday’s episode because he couldn’t solve the puzzle with only one letter remaining to be guessed.

Jennings’s guess was “P,” which would’ve made “Puentin” the answer. Maybe there are people named “Puentin,” but if so, we haven’t met them. Or perhaps Jennings didn’t realize a first name was part of this rhyming puzzle. It’s also possible that Jennings was referring to “puenting," the Spanish word for bungee jumping.

Fellow contestants and former NFL stars Marcellus Wiley and Jared Allen made no remarks, perhaps out of kindness—especially when the game was being played for charity.

But that didn’t stop people from posting quips and disbelief on social media.

If Tarantino finds out about this, perhaps he can send copies of his films or his recent book to Jennings. Even better, maybe the director can offer a cameo role in his upcoming movie, reportedly titled The Movie Critic. That would be fun.
