Josh Dobbs Was Stunned by the Vikings’ ‘SKOL’ Chants During Home Debut

Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs led the team to its fifth consecutive win on Sunday during his first start and his home debut in Minnesota.

The Vikings downed the Saints, 27–19, and the franchise’s new starting quarterback couldn’t help but express his appreciation for the support he’s received from the fan base during his brief tenure with Minnesota.

After the game, Dobbs took to social media with a message for the fans at U.S. Bank Stadium, making clear that the “SKOL” chant was well received on the field.

“The SKOL Chant definitely lived up to the hype,” wrote Dobbs on X. “The stadium was rockinnnn!”

Dobbs unexpectedly took over as the team’s starter in Week 9 following an injury to Jaren Hall. He had just arrived in Minnesota via a trade from the Cardinals earlier that week and was entirely unfamiliar with the offense.

Despite his lack of familiarity with his teammates, the plays, or his coaches, Dobbs led the team to a 31–28 win over the Falcons and followed that up with another win in Week 10 against New Orleans.

Dobbs completed 23-of-34 pass attempts for 268 yards and one touchdown in the win. He also rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

He’ll be back on the field for a primetime matchup against the Broncos in Week 11 on Sunday Night Football
