Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey

The Bills have parted ways with offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, hours after the team’s 24–22 loss to the Broncos on Monday Night Football, the team announced Tuesday morning.

The Bills’ offense committed four turnovers in the contest, including one in the first play of the game on a fumble by running back James Cook. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen finished Monday’s loss with two interceptions, raising his season total to a league-leading 11.

Bills quarterbacks coach Joe Brady will serve as the team’s interim offensive coordinator. Dorsey’s firing comes less than a week after McDermott told reporters that he remained “confident” in the offensive coordinator’s ability despite the Bills’ 24–18 loss in Week 9 to the Bengals.

“I understand everyone’s frustration,” McDermott said last Wednesday. “We’re working extremely hard to make the adjustments we have to make. Ken is doing the same. So, I remain confident in Ken and our offensive staff, and we continue to work hard at improving.”

Buffalo (5-5) scored more than 30 points in three of its first five games of the season. However, since the Bills’ 25–20 Week 5 loss to the Jaguars in London, Buffalo has averaged 20.6 points per contest.

Dorsey, 42, took over as the Bills’ offensive coordinator in February 2022 when Brian Daboll left the franchise to become the Giants’ head coach. Prior to his role as offensive coordinator, Dorsey served as the Bills’ passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Before Buffalo, Dorsey served as the Panthers’ quarterbacks coach from ’13 to ’17.

Buffalo, which dropped to 5–5 with the loss, plays host to the Jets (4–5) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
