NFL Fans Roasted Mark Wahlberg for His Awkward ‘ManningCast’ Appearance During Eagles-Chiefs

Actor Mark Wahlberg was the first guest on Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, better known as the “ManningCast,” for Week 11. The Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs promised to be one of the best games of the season.

However, Wahlberg didn’t seem too enthused about two of the top teams in the NFL matching up on the field. Putting it more strongly, he seemed bored watching the game with Peyton and Eli.

Was the star of uproarious comedies such as The Other GuysTed, and Daddy’s Home grumpy because he typically wakes up at 2:30 a.m. to work out? Was he still holding a grudge toward Eli for twice leading the Giants to Super Bowl victories over his beloved Patriots?

Whatever the reason, viewers definitely noticed Wahlberg making a typically fun broadcast rather awkward. Here’s a sampling of social media feedback:

Was Wahlberg expecting Peyton and Eli to mention his 2006 movie Invincible, in which he portrayed 1970s Eagles fan-favorite Vince Papale?

If Peyton and Eli ever do an afternoon ManningCast, maybe Wahlberg will be in a sunnier mood. Especially if he has a movie to promote. However, he probably won’t be invited back after such a surly, low-energy appearance. Judging from his demeanor, Wahlberg might not want to return.
