Jerry Jones Lauds Dak Prescott As ‘Qualified In Every Way’ to Win a Super Bowl
Jerry Jones was impressed with the Cowboys on Sunday after the team’s statement win over the Eagles on prime time, which saw Dallas overtake their rivals for the top spot in the NFC East.
After the game, the Cowboys owner was full of praise for the team, calling the win the “most satisfying” under coach Mike McCarthy, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Jones also commended the performance of Dak Prescott and stated that he thinks Dallas’s MVP candidate is “qualified in every way” to be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
“Dak is a player who is qualified in every way to have a Super Bowl in his career,” said Jones.
The 81-year-old told reporters that his biggest career regret was that the Cowboys were unable to win a ring with Tony Romo as their quarterback. Per Machota, Jones said he’d be equally disappointed if the franchise failed to win a championship with Prescott under center.
The Cowboys’ quarterback is playing some of the best football of his career of late. Over his last four games, Prescott has 11 touchdown passes and no interceptions. Dallas is undefeated during that span, and the 30-year-old has surged up the board in the NFL’s MVP race.
Additionally, the Cowboys have put up 33 or more points in each of their last five games, including three games with more than 40 points.
Jones is eager to win the franchise’s first Super Bowl since 1996, and he made clear following the win against Philadelphia that he believes Prescott is a quarterback worthy of the achievement.
