Dolphins’ Mike McDaniel Sent Perfect Text to Peyton Manning Ahead of ‘MNF’ Game

In this story:
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is known for his way with words, whether it’s what he says or leaves unsaid. The wry comment about his height in Germany. Darting away from the cameras in his Nike Air Forces. Well, add one more anecdote to his growing arsenal of millennial communication—even if it’s just a text.
On ESPN’s ManningCast on Monday night, Peyton Manning revealed a text he received from Miami’s coach earlier that week. Manning initially sent McDaniel a text asking if he could have a few minutes of his time to discuss the Dolphins-Titans game, which ManningCast was scheduled to cover.
McDaniel texted back an NSFW pumped-up answer, “Um f--- yes you’re f------ Payton manning bro.”
Note the typo. Manning definitely did.

“The reaction was kind of mixed, Eli. He seemed excited, yet he spelled my name wrong.”
The Manning brothers briefly joked about whether McDaniel was confusing Peyton for a different “Payton”—perhaps Broncos coach Sean Payton.
Unfortunately for Miami fans, the Dolphins were upset by the Titans, 28—27, but they remain atop the AFC East with a 9—4 record.
Among other things McDaniel might address in a press conference, maybe he will have a witty comment about the typo later this week.
