‘The Sopranos’ Discuss Tommy DeVito, His Agent and Scott Van Pelt

Also in Traina Thoughts: NFL broadcasting news; MLB Hall of Famer upset about Tom Brady; Mad Dog mad about Ohtani contract and more.

1. Did you know that Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito is Italian? I know that nobody is discussing that or leaning into stereotypes about him and his agent, Sean Stellato, who drew a lot of attention after appearing on Monday Night Football this week, for their nationality.

While 99% of the stuff I’ve seen about DeVito and his agent being Italian has been painfully unoriginal and not creative in any way, shape or form, here is a piece of content that is actually amusing.

The reason this video worked is because it’s more about The Sopranos than DeVito. This TikToker not only nailed his impressions of Tony, Christopher and Paulie, but the dialogue works as well.

As a bonus, there’s an excellent Scott Van Pelt shout-out.

2. The NFL’s Saturday schedule begins this weekend with a tripleheader on the NFL Network. Here are the broadcast teams for the three games.

Vikings at Bengals, 1 p.m.: Chris Rose and Jason McCourty

Steelers at Colts, 4:30 p.m.: Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner

Broncos at Lions, 8:15 p.m.: Kevin Harlan and Trent Green

3. Many years ago, Tom Brady was drafted by the Montreal Expos. Topps has decided to capitalize on that nugget by giving Brady his own baseball card and making this pretty cool video that imagines what would've happened if Tom chose the diamond over the gridiron.

Topps’ marketing move, however, did not sit well with Hall of Famer Rod Carew, who somehow took the whole thing as a slight to baseball.

4. SiriusXM’s Chris “Mad Dog” Russo had one of his vintage rants when he found out that practically all of Shohei Ohtani’s salary from the Dodgers will be deferred.

5. Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen had the best reaction to watching his teammate, Tylan Wallace, take a punt 76 yards to the house to give Baltimore a 37–31 overtime win against the Rams on Sunday.

6. There were two episodes of SI Media With Jimmy Traina from last week for your listening pleasure.

First up was ESPN football analyst Booger McFarland, who discussed the College Football Playoff, FSU’s snub, his Michigan-Alabama and Texas-Washington predictions, his time on Monday Night Football and much more.

You can listen to the podcast below or download it on Apple, Spotify and Google.

WWE superstar Seth Rollins also joined SI Media With Jimmy Traina last week. Rollins talked about his viral reaction to CM Punk’s WWE return, why he dislikes Punk, his issues with Roman Reigns, his love of the Chicago Bears and much more.

7. RANDOM VIDEO OF THE DAY: Taylor Swift turns 33 years old today. I know this might be a weird way to celebrate the big day, but if anyone ever asks me what’s the first thing I think of when I hear her name, it will always be this all-time pop culture moment.
