Ben Roethlisberger Weighs in on Whom Should Start at Quarterback for Steelers vs. Bengals
It was another rough outing for the Steelers Saturday night when Mike Tomlin’s squad was handedly beaten by the Colts on national television. Pittsburgh was once again without starting quarterback Kenny Pickett, who has been out since undergoing surgery on a high ankle sprain he suffered in a Week 13 loss to the Cardinals. Now, all eyes will be on who will start under center for Pittsburgh in Week 16 vs. the Bengals.
While watching Saturday’s 30–13 loss live on his Footbahlin podcast, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger weighed in on who he thinks should get the start in the team’s next game.
“So, next week, if Kenny’s back, I think it’ll be Kenny,” Roethlisberger said. “But I think they have to go to Mason [Rudolph]. You’re not going back to Mitch [Trubisky].”

Trubisky has been the team’s starter ever since Pickett went down, but since then, the team has gone 0–3 and scored just 41 points in that span. In his five appearances on the year, Trubisky has thrown for 632 yards and four touchdowns to five interceptions while completing 62.6% of his passes.
Rudolph made his season debut Saturday, completing 2 of 3 passes for three yards in the loss. The football world will find out who Tomlin will turn to on Saturday when the Steelers host the Bengals at 1 p.m. ET.
