Dak Prescott Had Perfect Five-Word Reaction to Cowboys’ Backing Into Playoff Berth

Ahead of the Cowboys’ matchup against the Bills on Sunday, Dallas clinched a playoff spot thanks to how the early slate of games played out. But Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott had no idea. Playoffs or not, his squad had its eyes on Buffalo—but the Cowboys still got punched in the mouth.

The Bills dominated the Cowboys from start to finish and won 31–10, keeping their own playoff hopes alive. After the game, Prescott was asked if he knew about his team’s clinching a postseason spot or whether it meant anything in light of the brutal loss. He said he had no idea they had secured a playoff berth, but it didn’t mean anything to him in the moment.

“Don’t care, to be honest,” Prescott told reporters.

Prescott went on to say that securing a playoff spot was just a “matter of time” the way his team is playing. Dallas now sits at 10–4, a half-game behind the Eagles (10–3), who play in Seattle on Monday night.

Prescott’s assessment is right, after all. The Cowboys have their eyes on their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1995 season. But after a humbling loss like the one they suffered Sunday, merely clinching a playoff berth is of little comfort.
