Cowboys’ Jerry Jones Had So Much Fun Watching the Eagles Lose to the Seahawks
Arguably nobody loved watching the Eagles lose in last-minute fashion to the Seahawks 20–17 on Monday night than Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The Eagles and Cowboys have been battling atop the NFC East this season. Dallas lost to the Bills on Sunday, pushing them to 10–4 on the year, and putting the team in jeopardy of losing the top spot in the division. But after Philadelphia’s Monday night loss, the Eagles also had a 10–4 record, and remained a spot below the Cowboys due to divisional record.
The Cowboys held on to the No. 2 NFC seed and the top NFC East seed despite losing this week thanks to the Eagles’ loss. Jones told 105.3 The Fan that he watched the whole game and couldn’t sleep afterward because of how exciting it was.
“It was marvelous. I watched every bit of it,” Jones said. “I thought I was about to doze, then when they made those two exciting plays I couldn’t sleep until four in the morning because of the impact that it can have on our year and our season.”
Dallas has already clinched a spot the playoffs, and currently hold pole position to win their division. The Eagles will need to start a winning streak if they want to take back the top spot in the NFC East.
