The league’s social media team cleverly tweaked the longtime Seattle Seahawks coach after Monday night’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Even the NFL’s own social media team couldn’t resist roasting Seahawks coach Pete Carroll after his team’s 20–17 comeback win over the Eagles on Monday night.

Carroll was, understandably, feeling good on Monday night, as his Seattle squad pulled off an improbable upset with backup QB Drew Lock engineering a 92-yard winning drive late in the fourth quarter. At 72 years young, Carroll could be seen running down the sideline with a look of pure joy on his face as he celebrated Seahawks defensive back Julian Love’s game-sealing interception.

Carroll carried that same youthful energy into his postgame press conference, as he showed up wearing a backward hat. The NFL’s X account (formerly Twitter) had the perfect caption for a photo of Carroll.

In a reference to the famous mere featuring actor Steve Buscemi on the NBC show 30 Rock, the NFL playfully roasted Carroll for basically acting like one of the kids.

A round of applause for the NFL’s social media team, as this was well done. In all seriousness though, the cool-dad approach seems to work for Carroll, who has been one of the most likable—and successful—coaches in the league since he took the Seahawks job back in 2010.

Seattle (7—7) is right in the hunt for a playoff spot with three games remaining in the regular season. The Seahawks play the Titans (5–9) in Nashville at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
