Randy Moss Explains Why He Is the Wide Receiver GOAT Over Jerry Rice

Randy Moss is undoubtedly one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history.

Ask the man himself, and he’ll put himself all the way at the top of the list.

Speaking as a guest on Kevin Hart’s show Cold As Balls, Moss made the case for his status as the wide receiver GOAT over Jerry Rice.

“Hands down, I consider myself the greatest wide receiver to ever play the game,” Moss said. “That wasn’t a shot at Jerry. I still got respect and love for Jerry. But I just thought the way that I changed the game of football.”

While Moss put himself in the No. 1 spot, he also had love for his “Mount Rushmore” of NFL wide receivers, putting Rice, Terrell Owens, and Calvin Johnson up as his top four of all time.

While Rice still holds the all-time NFL marks for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Moss’s impact on the game of football is undeniable.

Moss was an immediate superstar, finishing his rookie year with 1,313 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. His 2007 campaign with Tom Brady and the Patriots is arguably the greatest season a receiver has ever had, including an NFL record 23 touchdowns on the year.
