Ryan Tannehill Likely to Start in Titans-Seahawks As Will Levis Rehabs Injury, per Report

With rookie Will Levis nursing an ankle injury, the Titans are reportedly planning to return to a familiar face at quarterback as they look to close out a trying 2023 season.

Tennessee plans to start QB Ryan Tannehill on Sunday at home against the Seahawks with the injured Levis, who’s listed as questionable, “unlikely to start,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday.

Barring an unforeseen change, the decision marks Week 16 as Tannehill’s first start since Week 6, when the 12-year veteran went down with a high-ankle sprain during the Titans’s loss to the Ravens in London.

The injury opened the door for Levis to usurp incumbent Tannehill as QB1, sparking a run where the newcomer logged 1,792 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions while leading Tennessee to a 3–5 mark.

With Levis currently on the mend, the spotlight will now shift back to Tannehill and place the signal-caller in familiar territory as the leader of a team he’s led to a 38–23 record as a starter over the past five seasons.

Tannehill and the injury-riddled Titans (5–9) enter Week 16 largely out of the playoff picture but will look to play spoiler for the 7–7 Seahawks’s playoff hopes.
