Titans to Hire Bengals OC Brian Callahan as Next Head Coach, per Report

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly working to finalize a deal which will make Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan the team’s next head coach, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Titans parted ways with Mike Vrabel in a surprising move after the 2023 NFL season, and have since been conducting a search for his replacement.

Callahan, 39, has spent the past five seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Bengals. Although this will be his first head coaching gig, he comes with plenty of NFL experience. He’s previously served as the quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders, and also spent five years as an offensive assistant for the Denver Broncos.

Callahan was a hot candidate during the latest coaching cycle, having earned a second interview with three different teams, including the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons in addition to the Titans.

He’ll be tasked with filling out his coaching staff in the coming weeks, and among his top priorities in Tennessee will be the development of young quarterback Will Levis. He’s had tremendous success alongside Joe Burrow in Cincinnati, and will look to replicate some of that with Levis.

The Titans’ offense has struggled over the last few seasons, something which the organization appears to be hoping Callahan is able to fix.
