Pat Mahomes Sr. Debunks Speculation He Was Upset With Taylor Swift, Brittany Mahomes

The Highmark Stadium suite where Jason Kelce, Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift watched the divisional playoff matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills looked like the most fun place to be last Sunday.

Kelce took his shirt off and jumped out of the suite, while Swift and Mahomes hopped and danced to celebrate the Chiefs’ taking the lead over the home team. And as the atmosphere got more wild in that private booth, one person appeared to be getting increasingly annoyed. Indeed, the man in question appeared to be glaring without amusement as a jovial Mahomes exulted with Swift

Many social media users guessed that the man, who was captured by CBS cameras standing at the front of the suite was former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes Sr., father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. 

However, contrary to internet speculation, the person trying to maintain calm in the suite was not Mahomes Sr. Responding to WFAN-AM’s Tiki Barber making that same assumption, Mahomes revealed that it wasn’t him in that suite during a Thursday appearance on Evan & Tiki. 

“You know what’s crazy is that the people thought that was me, but it wasn’t me,” Mahomes said. “No, I was actually two booths down.”

Mahomes Sr. went on to explain that he knows Jason Kelce quite well due to his son being teammates with Travis Kelce, whom he said was “like another son to me.” Mahomes added that he’s also met Swift, whom he described as “nice” and “genuine.” 

The former major leaguer also dispelled any notion that he’s not fun, saying that he’s enjoyed great times with the Kelce brothers, especially Travis. 

“Those are the fun guys,” he said. “If you think Jason’s wild, you ought to see Travis.” 

Yet that crowd might be a bit too fun for Mahomes Sr. while he watches his son play. When asked if he would be in a suite with the Kelce/Swift contingent, he joked “I hope not.”
