Travis Kelce Hints He’s Nowhere Near Retirement in Mic’d Up Convo With Patrick Mahomes

Despite being the younger brother in the Kelce family, it was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce who attracted the brunt of retirement rumors earlier this season.

Kelce, whose place as one of the great tight ends in NFL history is assured, told writer J.R. Moehringer in a November WSJ Magazine profile that he thinks about retirement “more than anyone could ever imagine.”

However, Kelce remains a weapon, as his 11 catches, 116 yards and one touchdown in the AFC championship against the Baltimore Ravens illustrates. The tight end appeared to imply after the Chiefs’ 17–10 win that retirement would have to wait.

“It never gets old,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes told Kelce in an NFL Films clip posted to social media Tuesday morning.

“It makes you feel younger, baby!” Kelce replied. “I could do this another 11 years!”

Will Kelce stick around until 2034, his age-45 season? Probably not.

He at least seems eager to stick around until 2024, which is good enough for Kansas City.
