Seahawks to Hire Aden Durde as Defensive Coordinator, per Report

The Seattle Seahawks appear to have found a new defensive coordinator to pair with their defensive-minded coach.

The Seahawks are hiring Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach Aden Durde as their defensive coordinator, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Friday afternoon.

Durde, 44, has served in that role since 2021. During his three-year tenure, the Cowboys finished in the top 10 in scoring defense every season.

Seattle, which is adjusting to life after the departure of longtime coach Pete Carroll, hired former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as its head coach on Jan. 31.

Aden Durde reportedly has been hired as the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator on Feb. 9, 2024.

The Dallas Cowboys ranked in the NFL’s top 10 in scoring defense all three seasons in which Aden Durde was on the coaching staff.

In addition to his stint with Dallas, Durde worked for the Atlanta Falcons from 2018-20 as a defensive quality control coach and an outside linebackers coach.

Durde is a native of Middlesex, England, and played five seasons in NFL Europe. He has been heavily involved with the international player pathway program, a venture geared toward introducing athletes from outside North America to American football.
