Vikings ‘Having Internal Conversations’ About Contract Offer to Kirk Cousins, per Report

Kirk Cousins’s future with the Minnesota Vikings remains very much up in the air. While the two sides have discussed a contract extension, it appears likely he’ll hit the free agent market on Monday at noon, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

But ahead of free agency, the team has reportedly had “internal conversations” about their current offer to Cousins, per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. Whether this will lead to a modified or restructured offer to the quarterback is unknown.

Russini also reports that Cousins and his camp have not given the team an answer about his decision on the current contract offer.

Cousins, 35, has made the Pro Bowl four times in his career (2016, ’19, ’21 and ’22) and has been with Minnesota since the 2018 season. Over six years with the team, he’s thrown for 23,265 yards, 171 passing touchdowns and 55 interceptions. He’s completed 67.9% of his passes over 88 games while posting a 50-37-1 record with the Vikings.
