Three-Time Pro Bowl DE Trey Hendrickson Asks Bengals to Trade Him, per Report

After three years with the Cincinnati Bengals, it appears defensive end Trey Hendrickson's next chapter will unfold elsewhere. Hendrickson has asked the Bengals to trade him this offseason, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

"Hendrickson is due to make $15 million this season, and is looking for more long-term security than Cincinnati has been willing to offer," Schefter wrote.

The forthcoming season will mark Hendrickson's eighth in the NFL, and his fourth with Cincinnati after inking a (since extended) four-year contract on March 19, 2021. Hendrickson has elevated his game since joining the Bengals, registering 39.5 sacks in his first three seasons with the team. He has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past three years.

Cincinnati is looking to recover from a down 2024 in which quarterback Joe Burrow was plagued by injuries. The Bengals went 9-8 last year after back-to-back seasons of double-digit victories.
