All Eyes Are Now on This 49ers WR Returning From Injury

In this story:
It's Week 5 and the San Francisco 49ers have many injuries on offense.
Deebo Samuel hurt his hamstring in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks. Jake Tonges will miss the whole season because of a torn MCL he picked up in Week 1. Demarcus Robinson's ankle sprain in Week 2 means he will miss up to 6 games, maybe more.
Rookie De'Zhaun Stribling suffered a left ankle deltoid ligament sprain/rupture and will be back at the end of November/early December.
They desperately need bodies. Regardless of how severe these injuries are, the 49ers are still 5-0 for the season. All things considered, it's very impressive, but it doesn't change the fact that they are relying too much on their older veterans.
Enter Christian Kirk - all eyes are on him

Christian Kirk's return should be intriguing. The 49ers have opened the practice window after battling a calf injury.
Kirk arrived in free agency on an incredibly cheap deal considering his career stats, but it couldn't have been a worse start to the San Francisco life after picking up his injury on the very first day of training camp.
"Just felt like I kind of got over that hump and feeling like myself again," Kirk said to 49erswebzone. "Body starting to respond to just the training and the recovery and whatnot.
"And so, just wanted to communicate that to them, and tell them that I was ready to go, and get back out there.
"So, excited to get out there. It's obviously been a while, and just ready to attack this week."
Kirk has yet to play a snap or be integrated into Kyle Shanahan's offense, but he believes his experience will help him adapt quickly.
"I think it's like riding a bike," Kirk said. "I've been doing it for a while, and so, for me, it's just getting back out there, getting integrated with the guys. Obviously, it's been hard not being out there, but been really cool to watch day in and day out how this team comes to work every single day, and for it to be able to carry over on Sundays.
"I'm just excited, like I said, to get in the mix, and hopefully, provide some other production to help us win some more games."
Kirk will need to step up and help ease the pressure on San Francisco's remaining receiving options. Although his return date remains uncertain, don't rush him because his importance to the 49ers is growing as injuries leave the team dangerously thin at wide receiver.
