49ers vs. Chiefs: Which Team Faces the Most Pressure in Super Bowl LVIII?

In this story:
The Super Bowl puts a ton of pressure on both teams playing in it.
Without a doubt, the 49ers and the Chiefs will be feeling it on game day. Some players will revel in it, while others will get broken from it. That all depends on which team feels it the most given the expectations. So, which team faces the most pressure in Super Bowl LVIII?
It is easily the 49ers. Year after year, the 49ers have been so close to appearing or winning the Super Bowl since 2019. This is an opportunity they cannot take for granted and miss out on. All of the pieces are in place for them. Not to mention that they are the more talented team. The 49ers are favored in this game for a reason. And while beating the Chiefs will not be easy at all, this is a Kansas City team that has looked its most dreadful since Patrick Mahomes became the starter.
The Chiefs are allowed to lose this game. They are always here, and there is little to doubt that they won't be back this year or the next. Should they lose, they will still be applauded because they really weren't heavily considered to make it. That was supposed to be the Ravens until they knocked them out. The 49ers, however, were neck and neck with the Eagles to make the Super Bowl or were a consensus pick. This was always their expectation to make it and win it. Anything less is unacceptable, especially when they have a massive upgrade as opposed to in year's past.
The 49ers have always come up short largely in previous playoff runs due to the quarterback position. This time around the 49ers finally have a legitimate and healthy quarterback in Brock Purdy. He was an MVP finalist, along with Christian McCaffrey, for a reason. He's a really good player who optimizes the 49ers' offense. Not to mention that he doesn't make mistakes nor is he limited like Jimmy Garoppolo in the last Super Bowl. Purdy has functional mobility to keep a play alive or to evade the pass rush. Most importantly, his mental fortitude is unshakeable. The bright lights will not get to him.
Pressure is nothing to him, which will come in handy since the 49ers are the team with all the pressure in the world in this game. They have to get it done or forever be considered as indefinite runner ups.
