Brock Purdy Makes the Case for Christian McCaffrey to Win the MVP

In this story:
SANTA CLARA -- You could argue the 49ers have to top two most valuable players in the NFL this season -- Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey.
Purdy probably will win the award, because a running back hasn't won it since 2012. But McCaffrey has as good of a case as a running back could have.
So on Friday, Purdy made the case for McCaffrey to be the MVP.
ME: If you had to make the case for Christian McCaffrey to win the MVP Award, what would you say on his behalf?
PURDY: "He does it all. He's the reason why our pass game and our play-action pass opened up, because he sets a standard with the run game. And then when we do pass the ball, he's there in our play. He catches the ball, he makes guys miss, he can go up against safeties and linebackers and make them miss in the pass game. And then he scores touchdowns, his stats are crazy, so he's definitely a valued player, and I think the most valued player."
Isn't it refreshing how open and honest Purdy is? I love that right off the bat, he credited McCaffrey for opening up the pass game. Whether Purdy realized it or not, he essentially said that McCaffrey makes his teammates better by making their jobs easier, which is what an MVP is supposed to do.
Of course, Purdy makes his teammates better as well. It's just cool to hear him make such a convincing argument for his teammate.
