Hall of Fame Wide Receiver Ranks Bengals' Receiving Duo Behind Eagles'
CINCINNATI — Former NFL wide receiver and current ESPN analyst Randy Moss appeared on Take Off with John Clark recently and declared Philadelphia's A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith as the NFL's best-receiving duo.
The Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins slotted in as a close second choice.
"I will put them at the top," The Pro Football Hall of Famer said. "I'm a big I'm a big Devonte Smith (fan) trained a little bit with him coming out of college, so he knows how I feel about him. 100% if there's any wide receiver corps that I could compare to the Eagles that would probably be the Cincinnati Bengals, ... Big Batman and skinny Batman together, man I don't really think there is any combination better than them if there is I would have to put the Bengals up there. but I like what I see in Philadelphia."
Overall, Smith (1.97 YPRR) and Brown (2.47 YPRR) were both better in terms of PFF's yards per route run metric during their first season together. Chase (1.97 YPRR) and Higgins (1.80 YPRR) weren't far behind as they look to keep making magic happen on Sundays.
Miami has a strong case as well. Tyreek Hill (3.07) led the league in the metric and Jaylen Waddle (2.46) was fourth. They were the only teammates in the top five and joined Philadelphia as the only teams with two plays in the top 20.
