Joe Burrow: Preparing to 'Play a Monday Night Football Game'
CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow discussed his aggravated calf strain on Wednesday as the team weighs how to handle his injury before Monday night's game against the Rams. Burrow dove into the thought process of playing this week versus safeguarding the rest of the season.
"Yeah, that's that may not be my decision to make," Burrow said about that see-saw decision. "My job is to go out and play. That's what I'm preparing to do."
The Bengals historically need a win on Monday night to start righting the ship like they did last season. If not, the odds get heavily stacked against them for a third straight playoff berth.
"I'm preparing like I'm gonna go out and play a Monday Night Football game. Whether that happens, I don't know. But I'm gonna be prepared."
Burrow did note that "time heals" and he feels better since limping off the field Sunday with the aggravation. Cincinnati luckily is in an AFC where only two teams are undefeated thus far (Baltimore, Miami).
Cincinnati plays the Rams on Monday night as 2.5-point betting favorites.
