Tee Higgins on Bengals 0-2 Start, Joe Burrow: 'We've Been Here Before'

Cincinnati is facing a massive game on Monday Night Football next week.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are 0-2 once again in 2023 after a 27-24 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Tee Higgins posted the best game of any Bengal with eight catches for 89 yards and 2 TDs, but those were the only endzone trips the offense has produced this season.

They have to wake up quickly or things might slip away before the end of September.

"Obviously no one likes it, but we've been here before," Higgins said about another disastrous start to a Bengals season. "It's just all about bouncing back and going and winning one next week."

Cincinnati is trying to join the 2022 squad as the only team to make the playoffs after a 0-2 start since each conference expanded to seven playoff spots a few years ago.

Historically teams have around a 10% chance of making the playoffs after starting 0-2. Burrow was healthy after the 0-2 start last season. This year the strained calf is having a major impact on the results.

"He'll be alright, I think he'll be okay," Higgins said about Burrow. "I seen him limping but I asked him he said it was nothing. We've seen him push through injuries multiple times."

Cincinnati can almost kiss the season goodbye if it loses to the Rams on Monday Night Football. Just six teams since 1980 have made the playoffs after starting 0-3, and the 2018 Texans are the only team to do it this century.
