CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is going to miss several weeks after suffering a calf injury in practice on July 27.

Some have wondered if the 26-year-old will be ready for Week 1, but it sounds like Burrow is confident he'll be back in time for the regular season opener.

He shared a minor update with former Bengals star and current Fox Sports analyst T.J. Houshmandzadeh

"Yeah, I'm cool," Burrow told Houshmandzadeh in a text message. "I'll be out a little bit, but I'm good to go."

Burrow has walked around the locker room without a limp this week. He has worn a sleeve on his right calf. It sounds like he suffered a grade 1 strain, which could sideline him for most of training camp, but he's expected to be back on the field before the start of the regular season.
