Tyler Boyd Reveals Reason For Late-May Arrival to Voluntary Workouts

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Bengals welcomed Tyler Boyd back from his offseason break this week. He was one of a few Bengals who had yet to appear at voluntary workouts this spring and he gave a great reason why.
Family time above all else.
"I was away just spending time with my family," Boyd said. "Quality time with my daughter and ... I just felt empty not being around my guys and just being there for them."
Boyd is ready to parlay the time away into focused work.
"It felt great," the veteran said about day one. "I've been working out, conditioning. I feel good out there. You know, I usually come in feeling like maybe I ain't ready, but I was more than ready, but it's still day one. I got my legs under me and just happy to be around the guys again."
Boyd is coming off a season with 58 catches, for 762 yards and 5 touchdowns. It was a decade-low yards tally for Boyd, but he was efficient, posting a 13.1 yards per catch mark. The second-best mark of his career behind 2018.
