Buffalo Bills Bounce Back, Smother New York Jets in Crucial Win

The Buffalo Bills answered the call in convincing fashion in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills started a make-or-break point to their season in dominant fashion on Sunday at Highmark Stadium by getting a convincing 32-6 win over the New York Jets.

The win marked the first for the Bills with Joe Brady as interim offensive coordinator. Buffalo fired Ken Dorsey on Tuesday, but turned things around on a short week and had a strong offensive game against one of the league’s better defenses, the same unit that forced four Bills turnovers in Week 1.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished 20 of 32 passing for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. After the Bills had to settle for three straight field goals to begin the game, Allen and the offense clicked from the second quarter onward, as he found running backs Ty Johnson and James Cook for touchdowns while connecting with Khalil Shakir for an 81-yard score.

Shakir led the way with three catches for 115 yards. Despite the offense’s production, Stefon Diggs finished with just four catches for 27 yards, which might be a positive sign for the Bills considering how lopsided the game was.

The Jets (4-6) scored their first touchdown in two games on a nine-yard touchdown catch from running back Breece Hall at the end of the first half, but were otherwise shut down by a Bills defense that harassed Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, who was benched in the second half for Tim Boyle.

Wilson finished 7 of 15 passing for 81 yards, a touchdown and a pick while Boyle went 7 of 14 passing for 33 yards and an interception.

The Bills will look to take this momentum and run with it when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday.
