Real recognizes real.

And in an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" Wednesday, former Super Bowl MVP Von Miller sounded bullish about the idea that the Buffalo Bills could acquire three-time All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

"Word on the street is that we might be getting another big-time weapon," Miller told McAfee and former NFL linebacker A.J. Hawk. "We missed out on OBJ, it's another big weapon out there."

Miller unintentionally seemed to reveal that he's referring to Hopkins, especially since he referenced losing the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes along with he listing five offensive players that this "mystery" guy could potentially be joining forces with. Should the Bills be in pursuit of an elite weapon on defense, Miller's initial answer likely would've sounded different.

Hopkins indicated via facial expression in an interview this past weekend that while he has some potential suitors he's not interested in being traded to, the five-time Pro Bowler is intrigued by the idea of joining the Bills.

Miller said Tuesday that Hopkins, currently a member of the Arizona Cardinals, has told him that he would be interested in being traded to the Bills.

“You just never know until you know,” Miller said. “Hop said he wanted to be a Buffalo Bill … You just never know until you get that DeAndre Hopkins signature on the contract."

Hopkins missed the first six games of the 2022 season as he served a PED suspension, but still caught 64 passes for 717 yards in nine games on a bad Cardinals team. The Bills feel like a team that has been missing another consistent wideout across from Stefon Diggs, and Hopkins would be overqualified to fill such a role. The idea of Josh Allen having two elite receivers at his disposal is scary to think of.

What's also scary to think of is that if it's not the Bills that Hopkins is traded to, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs could be a suitor. So general manager Brandon Beane has quite a few reasons to seriously consider trading for Hopkins.
