Bills Injury Updates: Status Revealed for Taron Johnson, Terrel Bernard

The Buffalo Bills are battling some key injury issues ahead of Sunday's AFC Divisional playoff meeting against the Kansas City Chiefs, but reports ahead of the game are shedding some light on the status of a handful of key players.

Per multiple reports, Bills All-Pro cornerback Taron Johnson has cleared concussion protocol and is good to go against Kansas City.

Per NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, Bills standout cornerback Rasul Douglas (knee) is listed as questionable and "optimistic he'll play but a pregame workout there to confirm." He missed the playoff win over the Steelers.

However, Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard, who was carted off with an ankle injury against Pittsburgh, is a game-time decision but appears unlikely to play.

"Bills LB Terrel Bernard (ankle) not expected to play but they may give him a shot to workout today, per source," Wolfe tweeted.

Johnson and Douglas are arguably Buffalo's two most important defensive backs. During the regular season, Johnson posted a career-high 98 total tackles to go along with one sack, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and eight passes defended. Douglas, a midseason trade acquisition from the Green Bay Packers, played in just nine regular-season games for the Bills but tallied a team-high four interceptions along with one sack, two fumble recoveries, eight passes defended and one touchdown.

Of course, none of this will be official until the Bills reveal their inactives list about 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Buffalo and Kansas will begin Sunday's playoff festivities at 6:30 p.m. ET.
