Crystal (Foot)Ball: NFL Mock Draft; Bills Pick in 2024?

Because it's never too early to plan for the future, NFL 2024 mock drafts have the Buffalo Bills already eyeing a defensive tackle from Clemson.

A year from now we'll know if the Buffalo Bills - after years of knocking on the Super Bowl door - finally kicked it in.

While only this season can provide that answer, we do know that in late April 2024 the Bills will be evaluating their new draft class. Next Spring the NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, but where - and who - will Buffalo pick? We know, the dust has yet to settle on this year's draft crop of rookies. But because it's never too early to plan for a football future, 2024 mock drafts are already heating up.

USA Today put out the first of countless mocks over the weekend, and it has the Bills picking No. 29 overall. Not because of 2023 standings (obviously), but based on current Super Bowl odds.

The 2024 draft class will again be loaded with skill-position players, led by 2022 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams (USC), receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State) and quarterback Drake Maye (North Carolina).

While the mock has the Arizona Cardinals choosing Williams No. 1 overall (hello, Kyler Murray?), it projects the Bills to improve their defense:

30. Buffalo Bills – Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson

Explains USA Today:

Some degree of change seems inevitable for the interior of Buffalo's line, as its four top players (Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, Jordan Phillips and Tim Settle) are all entering the final year of their contracts. The 6-4, 295-pound Orhorhoro could step in as an explosively powerful disruptor, and he likely has substantial untapped potential given that he did not start playing football until his junior year of high school.
