NFL Mock Draft: Bills Land Dynamic Playmaker in LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr.
The Buffalo Bills have some serious questions to answer after coming up short in the playoffs once again, and with their looming cap crunch, April's 2024 NFL Draft seems like the go-to way to answer those questions.
Of the Bills' several roster needs, receiver may be the most-well-known. For years now, many have written off the Bills' receiving corps as Stefon Diggs and friends, and it's not too hard to see why.
Gabe Davis has shown flashes of elite play, but the pending free agent has been wildly inconsistent throughout his four years in Buffalo. Others such as Khalil Shakir have emerged as quality depth receivers, but overall, the Bills would kill for another explosive playmaker.

As such, many draft experts have predicted the Bills to target a receiver with their first-round pick. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein is no exception, as he predicted the Bills to take LSU's Brian Thomas Jr. at No. 28 overall in his first mock draft.
"The Bills could use younger safeties and pass-rush help, but with impending free agent Gabe Davis likely to garner a decent payday, the team could look to keep the cupboard stocked at receiver. Thomas would be a nice ingredient."
A former four-star recruit from Walker, Louisiana, Thomas emerged as one of the most dominant receivers in the country this season. The junior posted absurd numbers with 68 receptions for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns, helping LSU finish as the nation's top total offense.
Keep in mind, Thomas put up those numbers alongside another superstar receiver in Malik Nabers, who is widely projected to be a top-10 pick in the draft.
A playmaker like Thomas would be just what Josh Allen and co. want, and if Davis does actually leave this offseason, a receiver like him may be outright necessary.
