NFL Mock Draft: Bills Give Josh Allen Another WR, Select North Carolina's Devontez Walker

The Buffalo Bills have selected at least one receiver in the last four drafts, and signs could be pointing toward them doing it again this April in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With Gabe Davis set to test free agency and an overall lack of consistency from the receiving room to end the season, particularly from star receiver Stefon Diggs, there's a good chance Buffalo adds depth to its receiving corps via the draft.

And in a recent mock from CBS Sports, the Bills are projected to do just that at No. 28 overall.

The site predicts that Buffalo will select North Carolina receiver Devontez Walker with their first-round selection, adding him to a receiving room that could feature Diggs, Khalil Shakir and second-year pass-catcher Justin Shorter if Davis signs elsewhere.

Here's what CBS had to say about the pick:

"Walker wasn't cleared to play by the NCAA until well into the season, and when he played, he rocked. In eight games, the former Kent State star had 41 catches for 699 yards with seven touchdowns," CBS Sports wrote.

During his college career, Walker posted 20 total touchdowns and 1,796 yards of offense. A play-maker with a nose for the end zone, the Bills could have Walker contribute as a WR3 his rookie season, similar to how Dalton Kincaid emerged as one of Allen's go-to target down the season's final stretch. Of course, that's an ideal scenario for Buffalo.

It's still anyone's guess which route the Bills will go in the first round of the draft, but receiver could be a realistic option whether that's Walker or another player.
