NFL MVP Betting Odds: Where Does Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen Stand After Week 16?

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen set an NFL record in Saturday’s 24-22 win over the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

In the process, he only helped further solidify his MVP case, which will need to be taken into serious consideration if the Bills (9-6) reel off wins in their final two games to clinch the AFC East title for a fourth straight season.

Per Bet MGM, Allen currently has the fifth-best odds (+1300) to win the award after Week 16’s games. His odds went up a bit from +1000 in Week 15, but he remains in the top five behind Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy and Tua Tagovailoa, who are 1 through 4 respectively.

The aforementioned record shouldn’t be ignored in a stats-based MVP conversation, an area that Allen is dominating in. He became the first QB in NFL history to record at least 40 total touchdowns in four straight seasons against the Chargers. He now has 12 rushing touchdowns this season and has found the end zone with his legs in four straight games.

The Bills PR account on X tweeted Tuesday the total touchdown stats for both the NFL and AFC, unofficially pushing the Allen MVP agenda as a result.

Combine his league-leading 40 total touchdowns with team success for a squad that’s likely set to make noise in the AFC Playoffs, and you’ve got a legit MVP case. The competition is steep against guys like Jackson and McCaffrey, but it’s hard to argue that Allen is a top-five MVP candidate right now at the very least.

The Bills will host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
