NFL Trade Idea: Buffalo Bills Acquire New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara?

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara could be traded this offseason, and the Buffalo Bills make sense as a destination.

The Buffalo Bills have a high-octane offense, but there's still room for improvement.

While the Bills employ veteran Latavius Murray and have Super Bowl champion Leonard Fournette on the practice squad, there isn't a complementary answer for James Cook in the backfield.

That's why Bleacher Report suggests that the Bills could trade for New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara this offseason.

"Kamara may have lost a step from his All-Pro seasons, but he's still able to make an impact on both the ground and through the air," Bleacher Report writes. "He's already posted 388 yards and two touchdowns on 104 rushes and added 50 receptions for 305 yards and a score this season. He'd be an ideal passing downs target for Josh Allen out of the backfield and could help Cook shoulder some of the rushing load."

FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer reported last year that the Bills were interested in possibly trading for Kamara at the trade deadline, but they ultimately opted not to. Maybe that will change for the 2024 season if Buffalo isn't satisfied with its running back room.

There's also a chance that the Bills could look to draft a rookie that will better complement Cook's strengths. However, Buffalo may prefer a proven option in Kamara over a rookie ... even if the price is larger.

The price may be steep, but for a team like the Bills looking to contend for a Super Bowl, adding a proven commodity should be the answer for them.
