Broncos Cut RBs Tyreik McAllister, Jacques Patrick

McAllister received his second pink slip in 19 days.

The Denver Broncos welcomed two additions to the fold Wednesday, signing kicker Elliott Fry and tight end Tommy Hudson. This meant two other players had to go in accordance with the 90-man offseason roster limit.

And so the Broncos waived a pair of running backs, Tyreik McAllister and Jacques Patrick, the team announced.

McAllister — previously cut on May 12, then re-signed on May 16 — received his second pink slip in a 19-day span. He originally joined Denver in 2022 as a college free agent out of Division II Charleston, competing in training camp before a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve. He was waived/injured last August but returned via the practice squad in November.

Patrick put pen to paper with the Broncos in May following a successful tryout at rookie minicamp. Playing for the San Antonio Brahmas, Patrick finished last season as the XFL's second-leading rusher, compiling 443 yards and five touchdowns on 115 carries. He paced all backs in receiving with 30 catches for 238 scoreless yards.

The parings whittle down a crowded Denver RB room to six: Javonte Williams, Samaje Perine, Tony Jones, Damarea Crockett, Tyler Badie, and Jaleel McLaughlin.
