The Cleveland Browns are going back to the well by reuniting with Kareem Hunt to help fill the void of losing star running back Nick Chubb for the rest of the season. According to a report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, a deal is imminent and Hunt will be a Brown by the end of the day.

For Hunt, this will end the free agency waiting game that he and many other veteran running backs are forced to play these days. Hunt has been waiting for the right opportunity and has reportedly stayed in great shape to be ready. The signing will delight many Browns fans who have been clamoring to bring him back on a cheaper deal all offseason. Hunt is a physical runner and fights for every blade of grass he can get.

The Browns will move forward with Jerome Ford as the primary back, which should come as no surprise based on their actions. They are high on him and he will now have an opportunity to be a key player on offense. He clearly has ability after running for over 100 yards in relief of Chubb on Monday night.

The question now is whether he has enough juice left in the tank to matter on the field. Hunt showed a decline in his production last year and he may not be the same player he once was. It's unclear what the pecking order would be on the depth chart and Hunt would likely need sometime to ramp up his conditioning. For Hunt, he now gets to come home and a chance to close out his career as a Brown.
