Is There A Spot For Mike Woods II On Browns 2024 Roster?

Will there be a place for the former 6th-round pick as he returns from a season long injury in 2023?

Michael Woods II was selected in the sixth-round of the 2022 NFL Draft and had potential to be a diamond in the rough type of a prospect.

In his rookie season, he was not much of a factor at all, only hauling in five catches for 45 yards in a year that the Browns never really got going. While he was poised to find an increased role and try to work his way onto the field in 2023, he unfortunately tore his achilles and was put on the shelf before the 2023 season.

2024 is his last chance to make his mark on the Cleveland Browns and he has a good chance to do just that.

In a crowded receiver room, Woods will be behind the likes of Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore but will have an opportunity to compete for that fifth spot behind whoever Cleveland picks in the draft.

In 2022, Ken Dorsey's last full season as the offensive coordinator in Buffalo, he called upon all of the Bills receivers to make an impact. That year, seven different players had over 100 yards receiving and 18 total guys made a catch. Dorsey will rely on any and everyone in that room to make a difference.

Woods brings an element of speed to the table that is frankly matched only by Jerry Jeudy. In his college career he finished with 1,648 yards and 12 touchdowns, while playing for Arkansas and Oklahoma.

He'll get one more chance in Cleveland in 2024, with a prime opportunity to show that he can make it in this league.
