The Cleveland Browns are coming off a hard fought slugfest against the division rival Steelers on Monday night. The team is reeling from the loss of star running back Nick Chubb to a gruesome knee injury that will end his season.

Starting cornerback Greg Newsome also suffered an injury that could cause him to miss time this week. On a pass completion to Steelers receiver Miles Boykin, Newsome came in to make the tackle and it appeared that his arm was pinned under the receiver on the tackle.

Newsome went down on the field in pain before being attended to by trainers on the field. He was later taken to the blue medical tent before ultimately going to the locker room. Initial concerns of a possible dislocated elbow were later shot down after further reporting detailed it as a hyper-extended elbow, which would classify more as a sprain.

Today head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke with the media during a Zoom session and said that Newsome's injury was considered day to day. This is great news for a defense that has played so well in the first two games. The cornerback group has been a major strength and proven a difficult matchup for opposing offenses. During last night's broadcast the play by play team said that Jim Schwartz called Newsome the best slot corner in the NFL.

His status will be something to watch this week in practice as the team has a quick turnaround with the Titans coming to town for a game this Sunday.
