Browns Kicker Dustin Hopkins Named Special Teams Player Of The Week

In this story:
Cleveland Browns Kicker, Dustin Hopkins was named the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Week for Week Six. This is the fifth time he's been named a conference player of the week in his career.
Hopkins received the honor after converting four of his five field goal attempts in the Browns 19-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, including the eventual, 29-yard game winner with 1:40 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Hopkins other kicks came from 42 yards, 46 yards and 50 yards. The one blemish on Hopkins resume was a 47-yard try on the team's second possession of the game.
The 33-year-old also nailed his lone PAT attempt of the day. Making the performance even more impressive, Hopkins put together a nearly perfect performance in some questionable Northeast Ohio weather.
Hopkins has been a breathe of fresh air for the Browns this season, at a position the organization has continually been unable to pin down. So far this season, the former Commanders and Chargers kicker has connected on 12 of his 15 field goal attempts, with a long of 55 yards – the second longest made field goal of his career.

Believe it or not, Hopkins is a perfect four-for-four from 50-plus yards this season, with his two misses coming in the 40-plus yard range. Cleveland's placekicker has made all five of his PAT attempts this season as well.
The Browns made the decision to trade for Hopkins back on Aug. 28, two days prior to the annual roster cutdown day, giving up a 2025 seventh-round pick in return. The move came with quite the buzz at the time as it signaled the end of 2022 fourth-round pick, Cade York's time in Cleveland. Ultimately, the move has paid off immensely so far for the Browns.
