Most Compelling Storylines Through Week 5 in the NFL

New England is shockingly bad, the AFC North race feels wide open and the top two teams in the NFL have put the rest of the league on notice.

Week 5 action is all but wrapped up and teams are starting to show their true colors. We have a pretty good feel on who is going to be relevant moving forward and which teams have more questions than answers.

Ravens Completely Implode in Pittsburgh

I'm not really sure what was happening in Western Pennsylvania at Acrisure Stadium Sunday afternoon. Only seven days removed from the Ravens looking like one of the top two teams in the AFC when they gave the Browns a beatdown, they looked lost yesterday.

That game felt very much like the Browns' Week 2 matchup against the Steelers where the Ravens just kept making mistakes and not capitalizing on the Steelers' lack of offense. Surprise - Mike Tomlin has the Steelers in it five weeks into the season.

49ers, Dolphins Setting the Pace

Whoa, this 49ers team is incredible. Everywhere you look on the field, the 49ers are elite. Their WR's are up there with the best in the NFL, Christian McCaffrey is the best RB in the league, George Kittle is the best TE, Trent Williams is the best Left Tackle, and (Mr. Irrelevant) Brock Purdy is legit.

On defense, the 49ers have a top defensive Line, their linebackers are two of the best in the league, and their secondary never gets tested. The roster is incredible. Lucky for Browns fans, they come to Cleveland Browns Stadium next week!

In the AFC, if the Dolphins get home-field advantage, they will be a tough team to beat. I'm not confident that their style will travel in January and February, but if they can host the playoffs in southern Florida, then good luck against Tua, Tyreek, and the boys.

Broncos, Patriots ... Bottom Feeders?

How long is the leash in Denver? The way that Sean Payton came into the season it, seemed like he wasn't going to feed into the Russell Wilson experience, and five weeks in they are 1-4. It can't be much longer until things get shaken up in that Rocky Mountain air.

Is this the end of Bill Belichick in New England? The Patriots got shut out and completely embarrassed at home against the Saints. What's even more discouraging is the fact that there is just nothing to be excited about while looking at that roster. It might be time to hit the reset button up there ... Belichick seemed to allude to that after the loss in his press conference.
