Top 5 Plays From The Browns 19-17 Win Over 49ers

In this story:
A missed Jake Moody field goal in the final seconds of regulation wound up being the difference in a Browns 19-17 win over the 49ers, Sunday. With a game that tight, the margin for error was razor thin and a few key plays made the difference in Cleveland winning or losing.
Here are the Top Five plays from the Browns upset win over San Francisco:
5) Jerome Ford 22-Yard Run Gets the Browns in Field Goal Range
The run game struggles since Nick Chubb went down with a season-ending injury have been well documented. Against the 49ers, Cleveland found a way to run the football with relative effectiveness, to the beat of 4.7 yards per carry. This late fourth quarter run by Ford was the longest of the day for the Browns and led to the eventual game-winning, 29-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins. Speaking of which, the Browns finally have themselves a kicker. Hallelujah!

4) Martin Emerson Jr. First Career Interception
Emerson Jr. has been extremely impressive through his first 22 career games. It was only a matter of time until he snagged his first interception and it happened to be a pretty big one, coming against Brock Purdy who hadn't thrown one all season. The turnover was a tone setter for the second half, coming on the 49ers first series of the third quarter. And set the tone for two quarters of total dominance that followed.

3) Obo Okoronkwo Stuffs Elijah Mitchell
Okoronkwo was one of a handful of defensive players who had a big day for the Browns. Aside from the opening drive of the game Cleveland's defensive front had Purdy off balance and bottled up a usually electric 49ers run game. One drive after the Emerson interception, Okoronkow diagnosed and shut down this run play for a loss of three to force a punt. The ensuing drive started at San Francisco's 45 and ended with a 46-yard field goal that gave Cleveland a temporary 13-10 lead. This play was part of yet another tone setting defensive series from Sunday.

2) Amari Cooper's Acrobatic Catch
This feels like the appropriate time to remind everyone that Andrew Berry fleeced the Cowboys to acquire Cooper. He's not the fastest receiver on the field anymore, but he might be the craftiest. He is old reliable in the passing game, even for PJ Walker, who was just looking to give Cooper a chance on this play. It wound up being the right decision. Is getting "Mossed" still a thing? Cause this one qualifies.

1) Kareem Hunt Scores the Browns Lone Touchdown
When you only score one touchdown, it has to top the list of top plays from a stunner of a win for the Browns. Hunt has had a couple weeks to get back into football shape and he showed some flashes of vintage Kareem Hunt this weekend. Bonus points are awarded when the highlight involves a Cleveland native.
