Former NFL Star Antonio Brown At Forefront Of Yet Another Lawsuit

The former Buccaneer continues to struggle to get out of his own way.

The last couple of years have been a nightmare for former NFL star Antonio Brown on and off the field. After abandoning the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late in the 2021-22 season, he's yet to earn an opportunity with another team across the league while being put right in the middle of various legal issues.

Brown is at the forefront of yet another lawsuit along with his company CAB Records. Avanti Solutions LLC, A Wisconsin-based company, filed a suit on June 16 in Broward County seeking almost $28,000 after alleging that Brown did not pay for services rendered. The company did work for his appearance at the "Rolling Loud" rap festival in Los Angeles in March.

An Order Setting Hearing has been scheduled in the case for August 8. A trial could begin by December but Brown is dismissing the legitimacy of the lawsuit.

On July 12, Brown submitted an affidavit providing three $10 checks from April that he believes satisfies the claims. That came with a letter from the 'Antonio El-Allah Express Trust' intended to dismiss and settle the lawsuit. The case remains active, according to the Broward County Clerk of the Courts records.

This isn't the only hot water that Brown has found himself in as of late. He made waves as the owner of the NAL's (National Arena League) Albany Empire earlier this year. However, the franchise was dismissed from the league in June for his failure to pay dues and fines. Another lawsuit may be on the way after he reversed checks from players and coaches towards the end of his tenure.

Brown was suspended for the first eight games of the 2020 NFL season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired his services in October and Brown ended up scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl LV victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.

He agreed to another one-year contract with the Buccaneers in 2021. However, Brown was suspended for three games by the league for violating COVID-19 protocols by misrepresenting his vaccination status. He recorded a season-high ten catches for 101 yards after his return but walked off the field during the team's win against the New York Jets the following week.

The seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time First-Team All-Pro caught 928 passes for 12,291 yards with 83 touchdowns during his 12-year career. He led the league in receptions (2014, 2015) and receiving yards (2014, 2017) twice while with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
