The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have formally met with Marshall edge rusher Mike Green at the NFL Combine, showing interest in the dynamic defender ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Buccaneers decision-makers could view Green as an ideal fit, given his explosive first step, relentless motor, and ability to disrupt opposing offenses. Tampa Bay has consistently prioritized speed and aggression in its pass rush, making Green a strong candidate for their defensive front.

"It's a dream of mine to live in Florida, so I'd love to play for the Buccaneers," he said when asked about his meeting with the team.

Buccaneers coaches may see him as a high-upside developmental player, especially if they face key departures on the defensive line this offseason. Tampa Bay could benefit from adding a young pass rusher with Green’s upside as they continue to build their defense.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 248 pounds, Green dominated in 2024, recording 17 sacks — tied for the most in the nation — along with 84 total tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hurries. His performance earned him Sun Belt Player of the Year honors and a spot as a First-Team All-American. Green's production and energy have made him one of the most intriguing edge rushers in this year’s draft class.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain one of several teams showing interest in Green. Buccaneers scouts will continue evaluating his potential as they prepare for the draft. Tampa Bay must weigh both his elite pass-rushing ability and his background before deciding whether he fits their long-term plans.
