Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray continues to see his name discussed - for bright and dark reasons - ahead of the 2023 season while he continues his ACL rehab.

There are plenty of questions as to how Murray will look upon his return, whenever that may be. That could largely play a role into what the Cardinals do with him in 2024, where the team is set to have two premium draft picks and the likely opportunity to draft a premier quarterback in the likes of Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.

In Chris Simms' quarterback rankings ahead of 2023, Murray ranked at No. 19, which put him in the "clock is ticking" category.

"That's a big part of why he's No. 19 [the injury]. The talent is greater than that - we know that. He's got some really special attributes about him," said Simms on Murray's position.

"An incredible talent that has - we have serious questions about his leadership and ceiling vs top NFL defenses. His running is a huge part of his game, and he's not going to be the same to start the year. ... There's some questions certainly with Kyler Murray and where he's at in his career right now."

Mike Florio - who has been fairly vocal on his stance against Arizona - ponders what Murray thinks of the current situation in the desert.

"This whole Cardinals vibe right now, and if they're as bad as we think they're gonna be... I don't know how much of that I could take in Arizona before I decide I'm want to go to a place where I'm gonna win games," said Florio.

"It's just a weird vibe for him right now. You wonder when he gets healthy again, and he gets to the other side of this season, how he's feel about the Cardinals and how the Cardinals are going to feel about him. But he's sinking - we'll see if he can move his way back up a little bit this year."
