New days are ahead for the Arizona Cardinals after the organization hit the much needed rest button this offseason. Figures such as Steve Keim and Kliff Kingsbury are no longer at their respective positions after a disastrous 4-13 season opened the door for both to find other avenues.

It was a reminder that life in the NFL can change rather quickly - it was just a year ago the Cardinals were fresh off a playoff appearance after going 7-0 and looking to make the next step.

Most Cardinals fans will admit that departing from both Kingsbury and Keim was probably the right move. Though Jonathan Gannon has yet to have the opportunity to produce anything on the field, Monti Ossenfort has received some well deserved praise for his rebuilding efforts thus far.

Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray has been a big fan of what the new regime has done thus far, and that was made evident on the team's newest installment of their YouTube "Flight Plan" series where the Cardinals followed Murray around in the offseason to document his recovery from a torn ACL.

"Just having them there, the support off-grid [meant a lot]. They've only been in the building for maybe a month or so. For them to fly out to Norman, in the middle of nowhere during the draft process to come see me and my statue put up, that was a big deal," said Murray at the unveiling of his Heisman statue at Oklahoma.

"It's pretty different for me, but it's been seamless. Me and JG [Jonathan Gannon] hit it off, he sees things the way I see things. He can relate to the guys and he genuinely feels like he believes in the guys and trying to get them better, me better. I feel like you'll run through a wall for that type of guy, and that's the type of energy that he brings."

The 20 minute episode featured plenty of quotes from Arizona's franchise passer, though there was one that stuck out when Murray was discussing the change of scenery at general manager.

"I feel free in a sense, especially with the change of upstairs [general manager] in the organization. I feel like they've done a great job ever since they came in. Holding people accountable, the leadership, they're really trying to build something from the ground up," said Murray, who also said many things Arizona did last season weren't sustainable.

"I'm thinking of stuff that I wasn't part of, like the draft, who we were gonna get, young players coming out," Murray said. "The whole (last) year was (expletive). It happened for a reason. The things we were doing weren't sustainable for success. It was necessary and in turn good will come out of what happened."

There was reported tension between Murray and Kingsbury down the stretch of last season, and the QB-HC duo were spotted multiple times getting into it on the sidelines.

Kingsbury (and Keim) were fired the day following the 2022 regular season. Keim did some analysis for the 2023 NFL Draft and Kingsbury eventually landed as USC's quarterbacks coach.
