Former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins now has the ability to choose any team he wishes after he departed the desert last week.

There's been plenty of talk around Hopkins and what the nearly 31-year-old receiver brings to the table. Talk from fans - analysts - and pundits alike.

But what do actual NFL executives think of the All-Pro receiver?

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer spoke to three different league execs and got a mixed bag of answers:

NFL Execs Dish on DeAndre Hopkins: 'Not Much' There in Ex-Cardinals WR

"Not much. He can’t run anymore," one NFL executive said to Breer, who received a different answer from the second person he spoke with.

"He’s still a good player. Good route runner, big, physical target that can play a ball in the air. He’s still a threat.”

A third offered a bit more context.

“Still great hands, he is not going to separate, not much of a deep threat, but very strong, and makes contested catches as well as anyone in the NFL,” the AFC exec said to Breer.

“Does not love to practice—I can’t imagine that’ll get any better. And when things don’t go well, you’re always gonna be leery, All right, what kind of drama are we gonna get from this guy? When things are great, he’s great. When things go south, his true colors show a little bit.

“But he always shows up on game day. He’s gonna have to go to a team that knows what they’re getting. You cannot expect a perfect-attendance type of worker.”

Certainly a mixed bag of opinions for a receiver who wanted $19.45 million in cash, but a talented player who could very well push a team over the championship hump.
