The Arizona Cardinals won't only be practicing against themselves in the dog days of training camp this summer.

Today, the Minnesota Vikings announced they would hold joint practices with the Cardinals and Tennessee Titans, both of whom play the Vikings in the preseason.

"[Vikings HC Kevin] O'Connell on Tuesday announced the Vikings will host joint practices with the Titans ahead of the Minnesota-Tennessee game in Week 2 of the preseason (game scheduled for 7 p.m. on Aug. 19)," said Minnesota's official website.

"A separate session of practices with the Cardinals will be held before Minnesota closes the preseason by hosting Arizona (game scheduled for noon on Aug. 26). The practices will be held at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, and more details will be determined."

Below is also a video of O'Connell talking about the opportunity:

Traveling to other organizations around the league for training camp practices continues to be a good tool for coaches and players to see how they stack against others around the league, rather than themselves.

It allows for fresh ideas and plays to be instilled against legitimate live action while also affording the players to escape the pressure of competing against the same opponent over - and over - and over again.

Last season, the Cardinals traveled to take on the Tennessee Titans, making 2023 the second consecutive year where they've practiced against another team.

This will be the first training camp under new head coach Jonathan Gannon. Though dates are not announced for camp (which usually begins in late July), mandatory minicamp will begin June 13.
