Cardinals to Host Marvin Harrison Jr. This Week

The Arizona Cardinals will host a fan-favorite this week, per reports.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are set to host Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. on an official visit this week, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

The exact date of the visit is unknown, though the Cardinals recently hosted LSU WR Malik Nabers today. Arizona has or plans to meet with the top three consensus wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft, which includes Nabers, Harrison and Washington WR Rome Odunze.

When it comes to top players in the draft, you can make an argument that Harrison is the No. 1 prospect outside of USC QB Caleb Williams and is certainly the top rated non-quarterback set to be selected later this month.

The Cardinals are doing extensive work on receivers this upcoming class and are expected to take a wideout early. Arizona has two first round picks and six total in the first three rounds of the draft.

Obtaining a legitimate target for quarterback Kyler Murray was a major priority for the team heading into the offseason, though the need was pressed even more heavily following the departures of Rondale Moore and Marquise Brown.

Harrison - the son of NFL Hall of Fame WR Marvin Harrison Sr. - is considered to be one of the best wide receiver prospects to enter the league in some time with nearly no flaws to his build.

Interest appears to be quite obvious on both ends. Harrison reportedly told former teammate Paris Johnson Jr. he wanted to be a Cardinal last year when Johnson arrived in Arizona as the No. 6 overall pick while Arizona has showed significant interest in the Buckeye pass catcher in the last few months.

Fans in Arizona want him. The Cardinals' marketing team certainly does, too.

We'll see if GM Monti Ossenfort is able to walk out of the first night of the draft with Harrison on his squad.
